Etsy Fee Calculator
This Etsy fee calculator shows every fee on an order — with the rate and what it's charged on — and what you keep after costs, plus the price you need to break even or hit a target margin.
Where the preset rates come from
Checked against Etsy's own pages on 2026-10-06. Etsy can change its fees at any time — if a rate on your statement differs, edit it above.

How the fees are calculated
- Order total you chargeitem price × quantity + shipping + gift wrap
- Transaction, regulatory, Offsite Adsrate × order total
- Payment processingrate × (order total + sales tax) + fixed fee
- Profitorder total − VAT owed − fees − your costs
Worked example (US seller)
A $30 item with $5 shipping: listing fee $0.20, transaction fee 6.5% × $35 = $2.28, processing 3% × $35 + $0.25 = $1.30. Fees total $3.78. With $13 of costs you keep $18.23, a 52% margin. With no fees at all you'd keep exactly $35 − $13 = $22.
Frequently asked questions
What fees does Etsy charge on a sale?+
Under Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy (checked 6 October 2026): a 0.20 USD listing fee per item, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus shipping and gift wrap, and a payment processing fee that depends on the country of your bank account — 3% + 0.25 USD in the US, for example. Some countries also have a regulatory operating fee, and Offsite Ads orders carry a 15% or 12% fee.
Is the transaction fee charged on shipping?+
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee applies to the price you display plus what you charge for shipping and gift wrap. US sellers don't pay it on sales tax; outside the US it's charged on your price including any VAT in it.
How do Offsite Ads fees work?+
If a buyer clicks an Etsy offsite ad for your listing and orders within 30 days, you pay 15% of the order total — or 12% if your shop has made 10,000 USD or more in the past 365 days. Shops under that threshold can opt out. Turn the option on only for orders that came from an offsite ad.
How is the break-even price worked out?+
Every fee here is either a percentage of the order or a fixed amount, so profit rises in a straight line with your price. The calculator solves for the item price where profit is zero — using exactly the fees, costs and tax options you've set.
How much does Etsy take from a sale?+
For a US seller, a $25.00 item with $5.00 shipping costs $0.20 listing, $1.95 transaction and $1.15 payment processing fees — $3.30 in total, about 11% of the $30.00 order. Offsite Ads, currency conversion and Etsy Ads add more when they apply.
Is the payment processing fee charged on sales tax?+
Yes. Etsy collects US sales tax and passes it on, so the tax isn't yours and isn't charged the transaction fee — but payment processing is charged on the full amount the buyer pays. On the $30.00 order above with 8% sales tax, processing rises from $1.15 to $1.22. Choose US sales tax in the calculator to include it.
When is the Etsy listing fee charged?+
Each listing costs $0.20 and lasts four months or until the item sells. If a listing has more than one item, another $0.20 is charged each time one sells and the listing renews, so the calculator charges the listing fee once for every item in the order.
What is the currency conversion fee?+
If you list in a different currency from your payment account's, Etsy charges 2.5% to convert the sale. Keep your listing currency the same as your bank account's to avoid it, or tick “I list in a different currency” in the calculator if it applies to you.
What is the regulatory operating fee?+
A percentage fee Etsy charges sellers in some countries to cover the cost of complying with local regulations, such as digital services taxes. It is charged on the order total. In the presets it is 0.48% for UK sellers, 1.14% for France, 0.8% for Italy and 0.88% for Spain; it is 0 for US sellers. Check Etsy's help article for the current rate in your country.
What's the difference between Etsy Ads and Offsite Ads?+
Etsy Ads promote your listings on Etsy itself and charge per click from a daily budget you set. Offsite Ads run on other sites and charge a percentage only when an order comes from one. Enter the Etsy Ads spend you want to attribute to an order in the ads field, and switch Offsite Ads on only for orders that came from them.
Why isn't my country listed?+
The presets cover common seller countries. Choose “Another country” and enter the rates from Etsy's Payments Policy for your bank account's country — all fee fields are editable.
Is this an official Etsy tool?+
No. It's an independent calculator. Etsy can change its fees at any time, so check the linked policies or your payment account if a figure looks different.
