Age Calculator & Date Calculator
Use this age calculator to get an exact age in years, months and days, count the days or business days between two dates, or find the date a number of days, working days or months from now. Pick a country to skip its public holidays. Results update as you type.
How the calculations work
Age
Whole years since you were born, then whole months since your last birthday, then the remaining days. Totals in months, weeks and days are shown too, along with how long until your next birthday.
Days between
The number of days from the start date to the end date, also shown as weeks and as years, months and days, with the split between weekdays and weekend days. Choose a country and the working days also leave out its public holidays and any extra days off you add.
Add / subtract
Years and months are added first, then weeks and days. When a month is shorter, the date moves to its last day — 31 January plus one month is 28 or 29 February. Working days skip weekends, and public holidays too when a country is chosen.
Public holidays by country
Holidays are worked out from their rules for any year, in your browser, with no lookups. A holiday that falls on a weekend moves the way the official rules say. State, provincial and local holidays aren't included; add the ones you need as extra days off.
United States
The 11 federal holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Washington's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. A Saturday holiday is observed on the Friday before and a Sunday holiday on the Monday after, so New Year's Day 2028 is observed on Friday 31 December 2027.
United Kingdom
Bank holidays for England and Wales (8 a year), Scotland (9, with 2 January and St Andrew's Day but not Easter Monday) or Northern Ireland (10, adding St Patrick's Day and 12 July). A holiday on a weekend gets a substitute day on the next weekday, so in 2027 Christmas Day and Boxing Day are taken on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 December.
Canada
The 10 federal statutory holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Labour Day, the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. A weekend holiday is observed on the next weekday. Provincial holidays such as Family Day aren't included.
Australia
The 7 national public holidays: New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Each state and territory adds its own, such as Easter Saturday, the King's Birthday and Labour Day, often on different dates, so add yours as extra days off.

- Working-day deadline: add 10 business days to today, skipping weekends and public holidays.
- Countdown: days between today and a wedding, exam, holiday or due date.
- Eligibility: check someone's exact age on a cut-off date for school, a visa or a competition.
Frequently asked questions
How is my exact age calculated?+
It counts the whole years since your date of birth, then the whole months since your last birthday, then the days left over. Someone born on 15 June 1990 is 36 years, 3 months and 20 days old on 5 October 2026.
How are birthdays on 29 February handled?+
In years that aren't leap years, this calculator counts the birthday on 28 February. Conventions differ: some people celebrate on 1 March, and in some countries, such as the UK, 1 March is the legal birthday for things like coming of age.
Does “days between” include the start and end dates?+
By default it counts the days from the start date up to the end date, like nights in a hotel stay: Monday to Friday is 4 days. Tick “Include the end date” to count both, which makes Monday to Friday 5 days.
How do you count months when the dates fall at the end of a month?+
Adding a month to 31 January gives 28 February (29 in a leap year), because February has no 31st. In the same way, 31 January to 28 February counts as one whole month.
How do I count business days between two dates?+
Choose “Days between”, pick the two dates and choose a country under “Public holidays”. The result shows the working days, which are Monday to Friday minus the public holidays and any extra days off you add, and lists the holidays that fell in the range. From 1 to 31 December 2026 with “Include the end date” ticked, for example, there are 23 weekdays but 21 working days in England, after Christmas Day on Friday 25 and the Boxing Day substitute on Monday 28.
Which public holidays are included?+
United States: the 11 federal holidays, observed on the Friday before when they fall on a Saturday and the Monday after when they fall on a Sunday. United Kingdom: the bank holidays for England and Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, with a substitute day when one falls on a weekend. Canada: the 10 federal statutory holidays in the Canada Labour Code. Australia: the 7 national public holidays that every state and territory shares. Holidays are worked out from their rules, such as “last Monday in May” or “two days before Easter Sunday”, so any year works.
Does the Australian working days calculator include state holidays?+
No. It includes New Year's Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, which every state and territory observes. State holidays such as Easter Saturday, the King's Birthday, Labour Day or Melbourne Cup Day differ from place to place, so add the ones that apply to you as extra days off. Anzac Day isn't moved when it falls on a weekend, because only some states add a Monday.
What about one-off holidays, like a coronation or a state funeral?+
Past one-off UK bank holidays are included, such as the 2011 royal wedding, the 2012 and 2022 jubilees, the State Funeral on 19 September 2022 and the Coronation on 8 May 2023, as is Australia's National Day of Mourning on 22 September 2022. Future one-off holidays can't be known in advance, and one-off US and Canadian closures aren't included, so add any you need as extra days off.
Can I add or subtract business days?+
Yes. In “Add / subtract”, tick “Count working days only” and choose a country. A deadline of “10 business days from today” then skips weekends, public holidays and any extra days off you add, and the result lists the holidays it stepped over.
Can I download the working days or the holidays?+
Yes. “Working days CSV” saves every weekday in the range, marked as a numbered working day, a public holiday or a day off, ready for a spreadsheet. “Days off .ics” saves the holidays and extra days off as all-day events to import into Google Calendar, Outlook or Apple Calendar. Very long ranges stop at 10,000 weekdays in the CSV and 2,000 days off in the calendar file, and the page says when that happens.
Which dates can I use?+
Any date from the year 1 to 9999, using the modern (Gregorian) calendar throughout. Dates are treated as whole calendar days, so time zones and daylight saving changes don't affect the results.
Is my date of birth stored or sent anywhere?+
No. Everything, including the public holidays, is worked out in your browser, and nothing is saved or uploaded.
